In April, the Employment Service decided to reduce the number of offices from 132 to 106. The reason is a saving requirement on the authority, which means a substantial reduction in the number of employees. Instead, the possibility of service via telephone, chat and video will be expanded.

The Employment Service is working to find solutions with external partners in municipalities where the authority will no longer have its own premises.

- Together with the State Service Center, we are also investigating what service that jobseekers and employers will be able to receive in the future from service offices around the country, says Eva-Lisa Höglund, Business Area Director.

People affected by the closure of an office receive information on where they can turn instead.
