The parliamentarian explained that the development of the defense potential of Georgia and Ukraine recommended by analysts is due to political reasons, not international security considerations.

Their efforts ... should not be aimed at containing Russia, which is not taking any action in this regard. Earlier, the US government analytical center RAND Corporation published a report on the strategy to counter the "influence" of Russia in the Black Sea region.
