Russian Foreign Ministry responded to US statements about Nord Stream 2

In its Twitter, the State Department cited the words of US Energy Secretary Rick Perry that the goal of Nord Stream 2 is to drive a stake in the heart of Europe’s security and stability.

We remind you that the main task of the Nord Stream 2 joint venture with European partners is to diversify gas supply routes, eliminate transit risks, and thereby strengthen Europe’s energy security, ”the Russian Foreign Ministry replied to the US agency.

Earlier, Rick Perry said that the launch of the Nord Stream-2 gas pipeline would strengthen Russia's influence and deal a devastating blow to Europe’s security and energy diversity.
