It was Thore Berglund, chairman of Töcksfors IF on the Swedish side and Nils Skogstad, chairman of Over Kölen AS, in the Norwegian, who two years ago came up with the proposal to pave parts of the ski area on the border between Töcksfors and Örje.

- There were many accidents on the roads. They wanted to get the roller skiers out of the car traffic and get a course to train on safely and safely, says Nils Skogstad.

Many have contributed

At first they thought they would get more money from the state in Norway, but that was not the case. However, they have received sponsorship and much help from non-profit forces.

Thore Berglund is one of those who worked hard to get to the track.

- Many have contributed. It is not possible to measure how much time we have spent here, but now we stand here, he says.

In the winters they drive with snow cannons at the facility, but now skiers will be able to go even on bare land, with roller skis.

- There is not so much snow in the winters and children and young people should not be out on the roads and go roller skating, says Nils Skogstad.

Inaugurated with baton

Tonight the track opens with a couple of roller skiers and some young people running the relay.

- It feels so good that it's done now. We have put in so much time and work. It was a dream. Two years ago I said as Martin Luther said: I have a dream. Now that is true, says Nils Skogstad.
