Concussion record: 93 Confessions: Samuel Little's worst US serial killer

TIME ONLINE | News, backgrounds and debates

Washington (AP) - It's a shattering record set by Samuel Little in his life. The 79-year-old American has confessed to 93 murders - making it the worst serial killer in US history, as the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) announced on Sunday (local time).

Little was the investigators in 2012 initially for drug offenses in the network. Using DNA traces, the investigators made the connection to three murders: The women were strangled in the years 1987 to 1989 in the area around Los Angeles. Little is now cooperating with the investigators - and in the three acts for which he was sentenced to life imprisonment three times in 2014, it should not stay.

"Confessions of a Killer" overrides the FBI's website, which gives detailed information about some of Little's offenses between 1970 and 2005. The majority of his victims were women. Drawings of confirmed and suspected victims can be seen. A map of the US is littered with blue markers showing where Little has murdered or could have: Ohio, Florida, Louisiana, Nevada and California are just a few of the US states.

A timeline shows photos of Little over the years. In videos he is to see how he gives information about his actions. This promises the FBI to get to the previously unconfirmed confessions of clues from the population in order to fully enlighten cases.

In the videos, Little painstakingly describes the look of his alleged victims. He wants to remember the hair length, the weight and the size of a blonde woman he killed in 1984 and left lying on the side of the road.

About a 30-year-old woman, whom he should also have on his conscience, he says that she was "pretty" and "friendly" and had "honey-colored skin". "That's the only one I've ever killed by drowning," he says.

FBI specialists believe Littles confessions are credible. Little was interrogated by investigators from numerous states. According to the FBI, Little claimed to have strangled his numerous victims. Originally, the death of many of its victims was attributed to overdoses or "unintended or indeterminate causes," said the federal police. Some bodies had never been found.
