Berlin (dpa) - At the beginning of the global climate protests of Extinction rebellion, the effects of blockades in Berlin have remained so far manageable. According to police, several thousand demonstrators took part in the two actions at the Victory Column and at Potsdamer Platz. The police allowed the activists - although the demo was not registered at the Victory Column. There were hardly any traffic jams, it said. In Amsterdam and London there were numerous arrests during the protests. Among other things, Extinction Rebellion demands that national governments immediately declare the climate emergency.
