Belarus Foreign Ministry announces preparations for Lukashenko’s visit to EU

Belarusian Foreign Minister Vladimir Makei announced the visit of Belarusian leader Alexander Lukashenko to one of the EU countries before the end of the year.

“I hope that this year we will make a full-fledged visit to the space of the European Union,” Takes quoted Makey as saying.

He noted that the visit will take place only after its preparation, when the concrete important results that Belarus plans to achieve “in terms of developing trade and economic cooperation, political, humanitarian cooperation and so on” will be clear.

Earlier, the Belarusian Foreign Ministry said that in order to sign an agreement with the EU on simplified issuance of visas and readmission, a signal from the European Union is required to complete the relevant internal procedures, after which the “specific modality” of signing the agreement will be determined.

On August 7, Lukashenko said he was not a supporter of the collapse of the EU.
