In front of two car wrecks at Fagottgränden in Lund, Jonas Sandberg, investigator at the Swedish Rescue Services Service, says that this particular fire may have started at one front wheel.

- When the fire occurred, the tire probably exploded and that's what the residents heard and alerted the rescue service.

Enthusiasts in hidden places

In the over 30 fires, 50 cars have been destroyed and despite this amount, the police have not yet suspected. Jonas Sandberg has been out documenting almost all car fires around the city.

- The pattern is that it has started from the outside and that the cars are often in hidden places.

Therefore, the rescue service invites the puffins to park in open and visible places.

-Where there is lighting and where people pass.

Car fire spread to school

Another problem is that buildings next to it are liable to ignite, which happened on St. The Lars area this summer where the Knowledge School's premises took fire.

Recently, three electric cars were burning near Region Skåne's premises on Lovisastigen and it could have led to a fire in the building if the fire was not quickly controlled.

The emergency services have therefore proposed that parking spaces be moved from the house and that the same should be done throughout Lund.

- We advise that you do not park too close to buildings, given the risk of fire spread, says Jonas Sandberg.
