If they find the calm of the halls of the Supreme Court, the nine wise men are preparing for an explosive session. Starting this week, judges will be looking at sexual minority rights. In question, a federal law on employment discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation. Homosexual and transgender advocacy groups are expecting a lot from the Supreme Court.

Then come the folder of the "dreamers" . Donald Trump had canceled this program put in place by Barack Obama who protected the expulsion of minors who had arrived illegally on American soil. The court will have to say whether the cancellation is legal or not. A decision that could affect nearly 2 million young immigrants.

The Supreme Court will also make decisions related to the right to abortion , or firearms. Sensitive files that risk exposing the ideological differences of judges, four appointed by Democratic presidents, five by Republicans. Among them is Brett Kavanaugh, whose nomination by Donald Trump had sparked a long controversy marred by accusations of sexual assault . There is also Niel Gorsuch, also named by the current US president. Both men are known for their conservative positions, especially on abortion issues.

This new session is likely to make noise, in the middle of an election campaign and in full investigation for a possible procedure for the dismissal of Donald Trump.
