Fresh wind on the Bundesliga! Led by an offensive duo of the late Herrmann-Pléa, Mönchengladbach beat Augsburg 5-1 on Sunday and took the lead, taking advantage of the missteps of all the cadors the day before.

The Rhine club, fifth in the league last season, leads with 16 points, after seven days, a quintet of 14-point teams, Bayern Munich, Leipzig, Freiburg, Schalke and Leverkusen, in the order of the standings unlike of goals.

Mönchengladbach had not been a leader for eight years, after the third day of the 2011/2012 season.

Wolfsburg, who received the relegation Union Berlin at 15:30, can be inserted in second place at 15 pts in case of victory.

Borussia Monchengladbach smothered the Bavarians from Augsburg by scoring three times in the first 13 minutes by Denis Zakaria (2nd) and Patrick Hermann (8th and 12th). Alassane Plea, French international ephemeral (a selection in November 2018), delivered the two assists to Hermann and scored himself the fourth goal (39th), taking advantage of a blunder "special blooper" Augsburg goalkeeper.

His compatriot Marcus Thuram, the son of 1998 world champion Lilian Thuram and hopeful international, did not score, but offered the first goal to Zakaria, a well-timed pass after an overflow in the box.

Augsburg saved the honor late in the game (4-1, 80th), before Switzerland's Breel Embolo did not waste the bill three minutes later (5-1, 83rd).

For Augsburg, blocked at 5 points in seven games, the situation becomes critical, with a single point ahead of the first relegation.

- Black Saturday for big arms -

Saturday, the big arms of the championship had a bad day.

Bayern Munich, after its festival in Tottenham Tuesday in the Champions League (7-2), collapsed against all odds at home against Hoffenheim (2-1 defeat).

Leipzig and Leverkusen, who could both take the lead, were neutralized (1-1), and Schalke, who was virtual leader after 90 minutes of play against the penultimate Cologne, conceded a goal in added time and finally shared the points (1-1).

As for Dortmund, for the third time in a row he conceded a 2-2 draw at the end of the match, traveling to Freiburg after having led twice. The Borussia with long teeth at the beginning of the season is no longer scary to anyone, and occupies a worrying 8th place. Even if it is not very far in the standings, four points from Mönchengladbach and only two from Bayern and Leipzig, the main contenders for the title.

The next day, 19 October after the international break, will propose a shock to very heavy stake for the BVB: the "derby of the Borussia" in Dortmund, against the new leader Mönchengladbach.
