Dalarnas Tidningar was the first to report on the incident. The sheep were out in the pasture just as usual when the attack happened. It was in one place that the electricity in the fence was not running - and therefore it was easy to get in.

- We have predator fencing, but the sheep went into a temporary pasture with too bad a fence. Then there is something that can happen. We know we have a wolf in the area, says Trygve Wålstedt, owner of Wåhlstedt's agriculture in Dala-Floda.

He is most disappointed in himself.

- You feel guilty because I have failed in my job to keep the sheep protected. Economically, it doesn't matter much, it's probably the most worry.

"Great risk of the wolf coming back"

This was the first time they had been affected by a wolf attack. Now they will take in the sheep during the nights.

Is there a concern that it might happen again?

- Yes it does. We have had hunters who have seen tracks before, but this time we were not alerted. And the risk is great that the wolf will return.

Trygve Wålstedt says that they previously had two dogs guarding the sheep, but which they no longer have left. He thinks it may have something to do with it.

- I felt that they kept the wolf at a distance. It doesn't have to be that way, but I know we didn't have the wolf at close range when they were there, he says.
