According to Morozov, such a statement by the head of the Georgian Foreign Ministry is very important, because "the Georgian and Russian peoples are closely interconnected by cultural traditions and good neighborly relations."

" Unfortunately, the current leadership of Georgia by its actions does not contribute to the restoration of full-format relations between our states, ”Morozov said.

The deputy also noted that in order to solve the current situation in Georgia it is necessary “to change the rhetoric and move towards constructive interaction”.

“After that, we will be able to consider some concrete steps to develop bilateral relations, including in the tourism sector. So far, we do not see sufficient security guarantees for Russian tourists, ”he concluded.

Zalkaliani said earlier that he would welcome the decision to resume air travel between Georgia and Russia.

The Minister noted that the development of tourism is one of the areas conducive to de-escalation.
