LONDON (Reuters) - Some players will be barred from entering the United Kingdom once they leave the European Union under the Brexit deal, the most prominent of which is Argentine captain Lionel Messi.

Immigration lawyer Andrew Osborne warned that once Britain was out of the federation it would be dangerous to travel for players convicted in cases including tax evasion involving many football and sports stars, including Messi.

Messi was convicted of tax fraud and sentenced by Spanish courts to 21 months suspended.

Osborne added that the current law provides for the prohibition of the entry of any person who does not belong to the countries of the Union to the United Kingdom if sentenced to imprisonment, whether carried out or suspended, such as Messi, which is applied so far.

He added that after the activation of "Brexit" Britain will separate from the European Union, and this law will be applied to the countries of the Union as well, and in the competition of teams and English teams in European championships will occur many crises in this framework.
