Evaëlle, victim of harassment in class, committed suicide in June at the age of 11. Today, his parents testify about Europe 1 so that this kind of dramas does not happen again. Earlier Saturday, a white march was organized in Herblay (Val-d'Oise).

TESTIMONIAL EUROPE 1

At the end of June, little Evaëlle, 11 years old, put an end to her life. Harassed in class, she hanged herself on her bed. Saturday, a white march was organized in Herblay (Val-d'Oise), where she was educated. The procession walked from the Georges-Duhamel College, the last one she attended, to the Isabelle-Autissier College, where her ordeal began.

"We felt a lot of emotion in front of the number of people who mobilized," said the mother of Evaëlle, before continuing: "We did not imagine that there was such an impact around us."

In March, the young college girl had gone from one college to another. His parents hoped to stop the harassment ... in vain. In addition to the mockery, bullying and blows of her classmates, Evaëlle's parents are now pointing to the inertia of establishment on one side and National Education on the other. For Evaelle's father, this march was an opportunity to express "our pain, our sadness, but also our anger at what National Education does not do".

"Sanction firmly and try to prevent this phenomenon"

"There is still no punishment for taking against children who have been violent with our daughter, it is outrageous," says the father of Evaelle. His mother says that some of the children continue to harass students. However, the college's internal rules allow for disciplinary action. However, no sanction has been taken today by the institution. "From a judicial point of view, they are not yet punished," says the mother. "This will happen with the end of the preliminary investigations and the decision of the prosecution."

Today, Evaëlle's parents warn other parents that in this type of case, "we must above all very quickly react, act quickly and make the right decisions". And for the stalkers, "you have to hit hard, otherwise it will not stop like that," concludes the father. For the mother, it is necessary to "firmly sanction and try to prevent this phenomenon".
