American Dalilah Muhammad broke her own world record of 400 meters hurdles in 52 sec 16 when she won the final at the Doha World Athletics Championships on Friday.
Muhammad, 29, broke his record (52.20) on July 28, 2019 in Des Moines, Iowa by four hundredths. But the duel promised with his young compatriot Sydney McLaughlin, 20, has kept all its promises.
Dalilah Muhammad led the race in the lead, but Sydney McLaughlin caught on and put the pressure on the finish to end at 7 hundredths (52.23).
The two athletes were far ahead in this race, as the third sprinter, Jamaican Rushell Clayton, finished more than a second and a half (53.74).
