04 October 2019The Russian journalist Yulia Yuzik was arrested in Tehran on charges of being a spy of Israel. The woman worked for years as a Russian media correspondent in Tehran, then returned home.

A few days ago she had an invitation for professional reasons and went back to Tehran. Upon arrival at the airport, however, the pasdaran confiscated her passport, promising to return it to her on departure. That same evening, they broke into her hotel room, taking her to prison. The woman is accused of being a spy on behalf of Israel. According to a representative of the Union of Russian Journalists, the Iranians were suspicious of some entry visas into Israel on the woman's passport.

In recent years, Yulia Yuzik was involved in investigative journalism, publishing two books: "Allah's Girlfriends" on female suicide bombers and "Beslan Vocabulary", a book of interviews with hostages survived by Chechen terrorists.
