"The demand for beer has increased tremendously in recent years and lots of new breweries have been started and now even the non-alcoholic beer has become much better and much more tasty," says Jesper Dahlquist, brewer at Sigtuna brewery.

According to the industry's own figures, Coop in Sweden has increased its sales of non-alcoholic beers by 225 percent since 2015. Sales at Ica have also increased - by 140 percent since 2014.

Larger range in the grocery stores

The supply of non-alcoholic beers has widened considerably in recent years. Today, Coop in Sweden has more than 30 variants in its range, compared with 8 in 2015 and Ica currently offers 24 variants in its central range, compared with 14 variants in 2014.

Is beer without alcohol real beer?

- Absolutely, it's the same process, the same raw materials, the same taste, so definitely, says Jesper Dahlquist.
