According to him, every month 300-400 thousand tons of Russian coal were delivered to Ukraine through Belarus. To this end, coal senders submitted applications to Russian Railways with a request to transport in the direction of Belarus, and since October 1, no application has been confirmed.

“This means creating a huge shortage of steam coal at a dangerous moment - in the winter,” he added.

Along with this, the deputy noted that on the very day when Russian Railways allegedly blocked coal supplies, supplies of Russian electricity to Ukraine began.

Earlier, the representative of the President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky in the government, Andrei Gerus, said that the upcoming heating season in the country could be difficult due to problems with coal reserves and disputes with Gazprom on transit issues. According to him, coal reserves at thermal power plants are 40% less than last year.
