A video of the meeting of the two leaders is published on the Ukrainian president's Facebook page.
Zelensky spoke in Russian and Ukrainian.
“We can even speak the Ukrainian language because the President of Belarus, Alexander Lukashenko, we understand each other, because our languages are very close, and I am really very pleased that our countries have no borders,” Zelensky said.
The Ukrainian leader added: “our people are friendly, our people are mentally, I believe, absolutely close, the same and I'm proud.”
Lukashenko agreed with Zelensky.
“We really understand each other, although we seem to speak different languages, our languages are relatively close and understandable, and our aspirations are also understandable to people,” said the Belarusian leader.
Lukashenko previously stated that he did not ride a bicycle to work because of Zelensky’s promise.
