Berlin (dpa) - In earnings, there are enormous differences in Germany depending on the industry.

Employees in the gaming, betting and lottery industry earn the least with an average of 1819 euros a month, as shown by a response from the Federal Government to a request from the Left Bundestag MP Sabine Zimmermann, which is available to the German Press Agency in Berlin. The "Neue Osnabrücker Zeitung" previously reported about it.

Employees in laundries, hairdressing and beauty salons, funeral companies, saunas and baths are just above this with 1843 euros - followed by employees in the placement and release of workers with 1866 euros and restaurant employees with 1889 euros. At the top of the scale are employees who earn their money from oil and gas extraction on drilling platforms, for example. Their monthly gross average is more than 5800 euros.

Employees at coking plants and in mineral oil processing therefore earn on average 5522 euros. This is followed by the construction of ships, boats, rail vehicles with 5234 euros and activities for insurance companies and pension funds with 5172 euros on average. The data refer to the end of 2018.

The Federal Ministry of Labor points out that the employees can have very different characteristics with regard to qualification, activities and work experience. Zimmermann emphasized in the "Neue Osnabrücker Zeitung" that too many employees were being deprived of low wages.
