A 49-year-old woman and her 7-year-old daughter have died this morning from a fire in her home in Laredo. The 112 Emergency Management Center of the Government of Cantabria received the warning call after 1:55 a.m. neighbor who warned that smoke was coming out the door and the floor window.

Autonomous firefighters from Laredo Park were mobilized, medical personnel from 061, along with agents from the Local Police of Laredo and members of the Civil Guard.

Upon the arrival of the firemen, there was a lot of smoke on the floor being small and very confined. When proceeding to the work of extinction and ventilation they found in the rooms the mother and her daughter.

The troops were able to take the girl out and transfer her to the Laredo hospital , but the mother was already at a stop. In situ, the resuscitation work has begun, to which the medical personnel of 061 have joined, but unfortunately they have not been successful.

Mother and daughter have died from intense smoke inhalation as reported by the Civil Guard. And it is considered to activate psychological care to care for the family. At the moment, both Local Police and Civil Guard are in the place of the event and in the hospital of Laredo, the bodies being kept in custody of the judicial police waiting for the removal of the bodies.
