“There are still Russian-language schools, but since September 2020, such schools are switching to the Ukrainian language of instruction,” the minister said.

Along with this, she added that schools of minority languages ​​that belong to the languages ​​of the European Union will have to switch to Ukrainian from September 2023.

Separately, she indicated that in these educational institutions the opportunity to study the mother tongue will remain.

Earlier, the OSCE High Commissioner Lamberto Zannier, in an interview with Izvestia, said that language policy in Ukraine violates the rights of national minorities and introduces elements of discrimination.

In mid-July, UN Under-Secretary-General for Political Affairs Rosemary DiCarlo during a meeting of the UN Security Council expressed hope that the Ukrainian authorities would ensure the linguistic rights of national minorities.
