According to Putin, the request of Ukrainian society for a settlement in the country is obvious. The Russian president believes that “first of all, on the basis of this request, Zelensky so convincingly won the election,” since the people are waiting for the conflict to be resolved.
“And if he has enough political courage, the strength to bring it to the end, I think that he will establish himself as an honest politician, courageous and able to achieve the decisions made,” Putin said.
The President of Russia believes that Zelensky “sincerely wants to do this, this is his sincere conviction, aspiration.”
He also added that in Russia they see “certain fluctuations” in Ukraine. According to him, Zelensky should look for some compromises and agree with all members of society, no matter what views they hold.
Putin concluded that Zelensky must still fulfill his campaign promises made to the majority of the people of Ukraine.
Putin also urged not to put Ukraine in an unfavorable light on television.
