Moore added that this is necessary to assure the US allies that Washington adheres to article 5 of the North Atlantic Treaty.

“Moreover, the expansion of the military contingent in Poland poses no threat to Belarus, and I hope that Russia also does not regard this as a threat,” she noted.

Earlier, Polish President Andrzej Duda said that the deployment of the US military in the country will help prevent new military conflicts.
