“The negotiating group does not believe that these latest proposals of the UK government of October 2 in their current form constitute the basis for an agreement that the European Parliament could approve,” TASS quoted the European Parliament negotiation team on Brexit.

It is noted that Johnson’s plan does not address the real problems that need to be solved to ensure transparency of the border on the island of Ireland after Britain leaves the Customs Union.

Earlier, the representative of the European Commission, Natasha Berto, said that further work on solving the problematic issues of the Brexit deal should be done by the UK, as it "leaves the EU, and not vice versa."

On October 2, Johnson announced that Brexit would be harsh if the EU did not agree to the compromise proposed by London.

On September 25, the British prime minister made a statement of readiness, if necessary, to withdraw the country from the European Union without an agreement with the EU on October 31.
