The main political parties have reached an agreement to eliminate outdoor advertising in the 10-N election campaign. PP, Citizens, United We Can, Vox and JxCat have signed before a notary the agreement proposed by the PSOE, which has not joined the PNV. The deadline to do so ended today at 6 pm.

In this way, they give up hanging banners on posts or street lamps, putting up posters on the fences and hiring outdoor advertising, in general. Remember that outdoor advertising cost 2.4 million euros in the elections of April 28.

Thus, they want to stage a more "sustainable" and austere campaign. "The Spaniards deserve more proposals and less propaganda," said the Popular Party in a statement in which it says it shares "the tiredness of citizens before the call for a new electoral repetition."

"The elections of November 10 are an expense that will be a cost not only economic, but also trust for the credibility of Spain, at a time when many families begin to see the future with uncertainty, add the 'popular ', who believe that, even so, "some will turn to the electoral campaign," in reference to the PSOE. "The Spaniards do not need to see advertising banners on the street lamps, but real proposals that solve their problems," they insist.

It is outside the agreement the placement of posters and banners that are produced in a traditional way the night of the beginning of the electoral campaign in the free spaces that the municipalities allow for this purpose, according to article 55 of the Electoral Law. Nor is the single mailing (sending letters) included, as requested by Citizens and Podemos, nor the holding of two debates, as demanded by both formations. It is something that will be seen later.

Vox has assured that "it has always defended that the cost of the political parties cannot continue falling in the pocket of the citizens through indemnifications and subsidies". "And as long as this remains the case, we will support the savings in party spending," they added
