The French Foreign Ministry appreciated the progress in the negotiations on the Donbass

“France welcomes this progress, which was facilitated by intensive negotiations held in recent weeks within the framework of the so-called Norman format between France, Germany, Ukraine and Russia,” the Foreign Ministry said.

Also in Paris, it was reported that the conditions are now in place for holding a summit with the participation of leaders of the Norman-format countries - Germany, France, Ukraine and Russia.

Earlier, German Chancellor Angela Merkel also announced the prerequisites for the summit in the Norman format. She announced her desire to set a date for the meeting.

The Russian plenipotentiary at the talks, Boris Gryzlov, informed that all the participants in the contact group for the Donbass agreed on the Steinmeier formula.
