Anansky recalled that the import of Russian electricity is not an imposed service, and therefore it is inappropriate to talk about the introduction of such duties.

“Ukraine itself proposes to do this (buy electricity from Russia. - RT ). This is a voluntary right of a free Ukraine - to buy or not to buy electricity. The market dictates the price. Therefore, it is very strange: if Ukraine does not want to buy electricity, it may not buy it, ”the deputy said.

He pointed out that the terms of electricity supply proposed by Russia are the most financially beneficial for the Ukrainian side.

“If one could sell (electricity. - RT ) more expensive, then Russia would sell it more expensive, but it would be unprofitable for the Ukrainian consumer ... I think that Russian electricity is the cheapest, and much cheaper than other offers that the Ukrainian side has, otherwise Ukraine would not buy Russian electricity, ”the parliamentarian explained.

Gerus said earlier that the Ukrainian budget should “benefit” from electricity imports from Russia.

On October 1, 2019, Ukraine resumed commercial import of electricity from Russia.
