Rospotrebnadzor for nine months of 2019 suspended the work of 19 hostels in Moscow, which were placed in residential buildings. This was stated in the press service of the department.

“On the facts of gross violations of the requirements of sanitary legislation (including the fact of placing hostels in apartments of residential buildings without transferring them to non-residential buildings and without separate entrance equipment) ... 19 hostels were suspended in court,” the statement said.

As indicated in the department, in 2018, 35 hostels were closed, in 2017 - 29, in 2016 - 53.

Since October 1, various regulatory legal acts have entered into force in Russia.

So, the requirements for hostels in apartment buildings have become tougher. Now, in order to provide hotel services, it is necessary to transfer the premises to the category of non-residential and to fulfill a number of other requirements.
