It was in 2015 that a patient was treated for a cancer disease and was promised another visit the following year. But the visit should not have been planned and thus not been canceled.

Two years later, in 2018, the person again sought care and it turned out that he then had a relapse of the disease. Only then was it discovered that the patient was not allowed to come back. At this point, it was too late to give any treatment.

The patient however

Later, the person died as a result of pneumonia and heart problems and according to the report, the cancer is believed to have affected the course of the disease.

The reason why the return visit did not go away is still unclear as the checks for booking of patients in 2015 were not sufficiently clear. The department should now have changed the procedures for how a booking should go, to avoid this happening again.
