Recently, the British tabloid The Mail on Sunday published a private letter that Meghan, the Duchess of Sussex, wrote to her father Thomas Markle.

The newspaper's decision to expose Meghan's broken relationship to his father by publishing the letter prompted the goblet to run over to the prince couple - who now shrug off both legal and public.

Accused of breaking the law

Meghan sued The Mail on Sunday for abusing private information about her, as well as violating the Copyright Act and the GDPR Data Protection Regulation, the BBC says.

Meanwhile, husband Prince Harry takes a stand in a public statement claiming that the British press conducted "a ruthless campaign" against Meghan over the past year - which has escalated since the birth of their five-month-old son Archie.

Prince Harry continues in the statement to draw references to how the British press reported on his mother Princess Diana and believes it is his "greatest fear that the story is repeating".

Harry: "I lost my mom"

"I lost my mother and now I see my wife fall victim to the same powerful power," Prince Harry says, continuing:

“There comes a point where the only thing you can do is stand up to this kind of behavior, as it destroys people and people's lives. It's simply bullying, which scares and silences people. "

Mail on Sunday says they will defend their publication "with beaks and claws".
