In total, IVO has called 150 companies in the country. Of these, 14 companies have been rejected.

The reasons are, for example, financial mismanagement or major deficiencies in the business, such as false nursing credentials and that the representatives do not meet the requirements for insight and appropriateness about what a home service company should deliver.

In Stockholm County, these are companies in Bandhagen, Järfälla, Solna and Södertälje.

- I am saddened and concerned when the representatives are exempt from taxes and do not fulfill their financial obligations so that users are squeezed, says Johanna Mattsson, Head of Unit at the Inspection for Health and Care.

Companies in Uppsala, Borås, Falköping, Karlskrona and Vetlanda have also been granted licenses or denied new permits.

Want to get rid of rogue players

One of the Stockholm companies, with some 60 employees, is granted a license after serious deviations in the home service were discovered.

- We are not interested in having the rogue on the market. The industry conducts self-remediation and excludes members. I also know that the municipalities follow up on their agreements. It is not enough with just the permits, says Monica Ulfhielm, who is the district chair for SFP seniors in Stockholm County.

An actor can be ported throughout the country

The government's motive behind the introduction of permit requirements is to protect users, who may have difficulty defending their rights themselves. IVO shall ensure that a home service company that is excluded in one municipality after serious deficiencies is prevented from taking up assignments in other municipalities. Now all 500 companies will be checked.

- It is not impossible that there are companies that do not even apply for a permit, as they have seen what the new rules look like at the turn of the year, says Johanna Mattsson.
