• A man in Öster in Gävle police reported himself after strangling his wife. He was sentenced on January 26, 2019 to 15 years in prison.
• 80-year-old dementia man in Gävle murdered his wife after delusions in December 2018. He was sentenced to forensic psychiatric care for murder and the sentence fell on February 26, 2019.
• A 40-year-old man tortured his partner to death in Hudiksvall in December 2018. The High Court upheld the life sentence on September 18, 2019.
Pending litigation• A man in his 40s is suspected of murdering a woman at Söder in Gävle. It was early February 2019 that a woman was seriously injured at an address on Söder in Gävle.
• A woman was found dead in her home in Ockelbo in July 2019. The woman's cohabitant is arrested for suspected murder.
