“On October 1 and 2 in the exclusive economic zone of the Russian Federation in the Sea of ​​Japan, the FSB Frontier Directorate of the Federal Security Service of Russia for the Primorsky Territory stopped poaching of 64 DPRK citizens in four fishing schooners,” RIA Novosti reports the message of the border guards.

When examining the schooners, about six tons of illegally obtained squid, more than 600 kilograms of crab, and three sharks were seized.

It is noted that one of the vessels did not stop, so the border guards “used weapons on the helm-steering group”. On the ship, a fire broke out in the engine room. Five poachers were injured and provided with the necessary medical care. Violators delivered to the city of Nakhodka.

September 17, it became known that the crew of the North Korean schooner, engaged in poaching, attacked the border guards in the Russian waters of the Sea of ​​Japan. FSB officers detained 161 DPRK citizens.

Later, on September 27, 262 fishery poachers from the DPRK were reportedly detained in Primorye.

On October 1, it became known that Russian border guards detained 87 DPRK citizens for poaching.

The Kremlin said the situation requires vigorous action.
