Offenbach (dpa) - Clouds, rain, a bit of sunshine: The weather will be changeable in the coming days. The temperatures reach the 20-degree mark for the time being, as the German Weather Service (DWD) explained in Offenbach.
On the day of the German Unity on this Thursday, therefore, only the southwest and the northeast can look forward to longer loosening up. It is therefore not warmer than 10 to 16 degrees. On the Baltic Sea and in the mountains blow strong gusts. At night, it can come to ground frost in the south.
On Friday, the effects of hurricane Lorenzo, which was then downgraded to low pressure, can be felt - albeit less in the form of wind than rain: "On the way across the Atlantic, such storms lose their power and then have only a comparatively small amount of residual light Wind and rain, »said DWD meteorologist Simon Trippler.
For the mountains and on the North Sea islands the weather service expects strong gusts, on the summits also storm gusts. With 10 to 17 degrees, the daily maximums do not change much.
On Saturday it rains, according to DWD, especially in the east, while in the west, the sun is increasingly showing. In the low mountain ranges and the Alps as well as on the sea blow strong to stormy gusts, in summits individual storm gusts. "A drastic change in the weather will also not start early next week," explained Trippler. A "golden October" is thus initially not in sight. However, the rain is urgently needed by nature.
