The Wales coach expressed confidence Tuesday in the presence of the opening half Dan Biggar in the next match against Fiji, October 9 in Oita.

Dan Biggar was forced to leave the field in the 28th minute of the match won against Australia (29-25) on Sunday, due to a concussion. He could not return to the field after passing the concussion protocol (HIA).

"He does not feel any symptoms anymore and obviously he follows the protocol like everyone else would," said Neil Jenkins, deputy head coach of Leek XV.

The World Rugby Concussion Protocol provides for examinations during the 48 hours following the match.

"If I am well informed, it will be handed in time to play against Fiji, which is of course good news," continued Jenkins, former international opening half (Wales and British Lions).

"He'll be fine, he's a great rugby player, a global player, he has a very important role for our team and he allows us to play the rugby that we play."

Only two half-openings (Dan Biggar and Rhys Patchell) are in the group of 31 Welsh players at the World Cup, after the package of Gareth Anscombe, injured in a preparation match against England.

"We only have two number ten, and they are vital to us," said Jenkins, pointing out that Rhys Patchell had been the author of a great come-out against Australia.

Winner of their first two games, Wales will be sure to finish first in Group D if they succeed in Fiji on October 9 and then against Uruguay four days later.
