The Prosecutor's Office will soon launch a press conference on the record-breaking prosecution that was brought today in Gothenburg District Court.

The Customs started its work last summer. A total of 15 people have been detained and are currently in Gothenburg awaiting trial. Two people are detained in their absence.

"It is the biggest case we have had if you look at the number of defendants," said Gill Eriksson, Deputy Head of the Customs Crime in Gothenburg earlier to SVT Väst.

Customs has seized quantities of capsules, which in total consist of 42 kilos of cocaine, 50 kilos of heroin and 40 kilos of cocaine and heroin mixture according to the prosecution. The total street value should be approximately SEK 112 million.

Among the evidence is notebooks, notes on envelopes, photos on scales and the book of drug sales, as well as numerous chat conversations that have taken place over mobile phones.

Transported in cars and trucks

Several of the defendants are suspected of particularly serious smuggling crimes. The drugs have been packaged in capsules in the Netherlands, and then transported to, among others, Sweden via private individuals' cars or in trucks.

In Sweden, drugs have primarily been transported to the Gothenburg and Stockholm area for further distribution, according to the indictment.

The trial will start on October 9. There are two more people arrested in their absence, suspected of drug offenses, and are waiting to be extradited to Sweden.

The defendants must be part of an international network based in the Netherlands, the members come from a number of different countries and only two of them are Swedish citizens.
