When we at SVT Nyheter Väst asked our audience to talk about fire souls in the western Swedish society, we got tips about Ann Högberg. She lost her 17-year-old son to cancer when he was only 17 years old.

The training became important in Ann's grieving process. Through the gym she went to, she was told about Spin of Hope, a spinning event aimed at raising money for the Children's Cancer Foundation. Since 2016, Ann Högberg is chairman of the association Lidköping against Cancer. The association consists of ten fire souls who ensure that a Spin of Hope is held every year in Lidköping.

Have collected large sums

Three years ago they got together 200 SEK, but since then it has grown. During this year's event, 3000 cyclists participated and a total of over one million received.

22-year-old Erik Elvmarker who works as an instructor in spinning is another of the fire spirits in the association.

How much time do you spend on this?

- Yes, it will probably be 6-7 hours every week. There are little things every day, says Erik Elvmarker.

Now Lidköping's association with cancer is aiming for an even bigger event next year. In April 2020, they expect to fill the Lidköping arena with 500 bikes and thousands of participants.

What does it give you back to arrange this?

- I feel that I'm doing good and I'm doing something for Felix's sake, says Ann Högberg.
