In Yilan County in eastern Taiwan, an arch-shaped bridge over a fishing port collapsed, and 12 tank lorry drivers who fell with the bridge and crew members of an underlying fishing boat were injured. It seems that several crew members are still trapped in the fishing boat, and firefighters are urgently seeking help.

According to the Taiwan media, at around 9:30 am on the day of local time, an arch bridge with a total length of 140 meters collapsed over the fishing port in Suao, Yilan County.

At that time, the tanker truck that had passed through the bridge fell into the collapse, and fishing boats anchored in the port under the bridge also became underlay.

So far, a total of 12 people, including tank lorry drivers and crew members of fishing boats, have been injured and received medical attention.

There is also information that some of the foreign crew are trapped on the fishing boats, and firefighters, maritime security authorities, and the military are urgently seeking help.

The bridge was built in 1998 and has been popular as a local symbol, so the Taiwan authorities are investigating the cause of the collapse.
