The Arab Media House in Turkey is buying the Saudi Consulate General in Istanbul, where journalist Jamal Khashoggi was killed about a year ago in order to turn it into a museum.

In an interview with the Anatolia news agency, the president of the association, Turan Qashlaqji, said that the museum will be announced on October 2, coinciding with the anniversary of the murder of Khashoggi, who was brutally murdered at his consulate.

He added that there are several projects aimed at commemorating his friend Jamal Khashoggi, adding that `` one of these works is the establishment of a museum that commemorates the name of Jamal Khashoggi, so our attempts to purchase the building of the Saudi Consulate General are continuing, we are buying the building to turn it into a museum bearing the name of Jamal. ''

According to Qashlakji, journalists want international institutions to take action so that journalists around the world are not subjected to such atrocities.

He said that countries should be prevented from committing such crimes by punishing all those who participated in the murder of Jamal Khashoggi, and warned that if we do not do so the world will witness more atrocities against journalists.

The Khashoggi murder took place inside the Saudi consulate in Istanbul on October 2, 2018.The CIA and some Western governments said Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman had ordered his death, but Saudi officials say he has no role in the crime.

After statements initially denied, the Saudi official blamed Khashoggi for the killing of a group of workers she said had acted spontaneously.

The prosecutor said the then deputy chief of the intelligence service had ordered Khashoggi's return to Saudi Arabia, but the head of his team ordered him to be killed after negotiations to return him failed.
