It was late in the evening of September 6th that night staff discovered that one of the residents of the care and care accommodation was lying with dried bedding and had a bruise on his left eye. The morning after, dried blood is also detected in the customer's hair.

Another day later, the customer complains of back pain, and that they have a hard time lying on the side.

Nurse and doctor examine and on September 11, that is, five days after the night staff sounded alarm, the accommodation in hospital is examined. There is a fracture of a neck vertebra.

Staff may have acted incorrectly

The company that runs the care home has started an investigation and there are suspicions of "improper handling of a customer's transfer, on the evening of September 6 when he was to be put to bed", says the Lex Sarah report sent to the Inspection for Healthcare and Care .

The caregiver does not rule out that the person may have fallen as a result of staff being on site.

The report also states that the investigator suspects that it may have failed in the transfer of information.

The investigation is ongoing.
