In Gävleborg, the unemployment rate is 9.4 percent. It is among the highest figures in the country and can be compared with the national figure at 6.9 per cent.

- I cannot answer when unemployment in Gävleborg reaches the same level as the national government, but obviously Gävleborg should have a much lower unemployment rate. I think partly that one should continue to invest in education and skills development. That's what is needed. So both the private and the public business sector get the right educated manpower, says Prime Minister Stefan Löfven (S) to SVT Gävleborg.

“My dream is to work in a hospital”

During the visit, students in adult education were told about both their dreams and problems when it comes to entering work.

- My wish and dream is to work in a hospital in the future as a nurse, says Sherzad Mahma.

- I want to work on housing for the elderly, I like it very well there, says Jeraldine Niemi.

Satisfied with blood pressure

Stefan Löfven also got his blood pressure measured by undergraduate students at komvux who seemed satisfied with the result. Also present was Labor Minister Eva Nordmark (S).

In connection with the visit to Gävleborg, the Prime Minister will also give speeches on Industridagen in Sandviken.
