Striker Racing 92's right-hander Cedate Gomes Sa was named in France's squad on Sunday to replace Demba Bamba, who lost to the World Cup following a right thigh injury, coaching said.

Gomes Sa, 26, had the last of his nine caps in November 2018, against Argentina in Lille (28-13).

Preferred to Rochelais Uini Atonio (29 years, 32 sel.), More powerful and experienced but less mobile, he will arrive late Monday in Kumamoto (southern Japan), where the Blues have taken up their quarters until October 10.

Unless surprise, he should be too fair to apply for the third meeting of the Blues against Tonga the following Sunday. A game interspersed with those against the United States (Wednesday in Fukuoka) and England (October 12 in Yokohama).

Bamba (21 years old, 7 sel.), Injured Friday in training, will leave him the group Monday to return to France.
