Presidents of President Vladimir Putin, Italian presidents Sergio Mattarella and Congolese Denis Sassou Nguesso, Georgian President Salome Zourabishvili, Lebanese Prime Minister Saad Hariri and Hungarian Viktor Orban were announced on Saturday.

Emmanuel Macron will preside over the solemn service

On Friday, German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier of the European Commission Jean-Claude Juncker and Belgian Prime Minister Charles Michel announced their presence. Some will stay at the next luncheon at the Élysée.

Former French Presidents François Hollande, Nicolas Sarkozy and Valéry Giscard d'Estaing will also participate in the solemn service chaired by Emmanuel Macron, in the presence of the Chirac family.

Monday will be a day of national mourning and a minute of silence will be observed at 3:00 pm in administrations and schools. Thousands of French have honored since Sunday the memory of the former head of state, who died at 86, a major player in political life for four decades, during a popular ceremony in the Invalides.
