According to Balbek, the petition appeared at the suggestion of opponents of the Ukrainian leader, who, according to the parliamentarian, might try to use them for their own purposes if the transcripts are published.

“I think that official Kiev will not react in any way to such statements, since the talks between the two presidents are usually not the most public event, and even more so the agreements regarding complex negotiations,” the deputy explained.

Earlier, a petition appeared on the website of President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky calling for the publication of transcripts of telephone conversations between the Ukrainian leader and his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin.

The petitioner recalled the transcript of the conversation between Zelensky and US President Donald Trump, during which the Ukrainian president “flirted” with a vis-a-vis, “coordinated positions on certain criminal cases” and criticized EU leaders and the former US ambassador.
