The President of the National Rally Marine Le Pen has renounced to attend the ceremony of homage to President Jacques Chirac Monday at Saint-Sulpice Church, after the reserves of the family on his presence, said his entourage Sunday at the AFP.

"Since the Chirac family does not want to respect the republican customs, Ms. Le Pen will not go to the ceremony," said his entourage, confirming information from BFMTV.

"It is with regret that we take note of the refusal of the Chirac family to respect the republican customs, by allowing all the elected representatives of the French people to go tomorrow to the tribute ceremony to the former President", added in a tweet Marine Le Pen, whose father Jean-Marie had made Jacques Chirac an "enemy".

According to a source close to the family, the Chirac clan had learned Saturday by the press the arrival of Ms. Le Pen he does not wish, but that is by right. A decree of 1989 relating to public ceremonies sets the list of bodies and authorities that may be invited. The deputies are part of it, but Marine Le Pen is a member of the Pas-de-Calais.

The Minister of Public Accounts Gérald Darmanin (ex-LR) was also moved Sunday of the announcement of the presence of Marine Le Pen, during the solemn service rendered Monday at 12.00 in the Saint-Sulpice church in Paris, where will be also present the former presidents François Hollande, Nicolas Sarkozy and Valéry Giscard d'Estaing, a part of the political class and many foreign leaders.

Earlier, the right-wing leader had said that "respect for the republican spirit is that in death we are no longer in political conflict, in political protest, we are in the tribute" , in the program "Dimanche En Politique" on France 3.

His father Jean-Marie Le Pen was the opponent of Jacques Chirac in the second round of the presidential election in 2002. Marine Le Pen succeeded him at the head of the National Front (FN) in 2011.

Jacques Chirac, who has always refused any agreement with the extreme right, refused to debate with the president of the FN before the second round, declaring that there was "no debate possible" against "intolerance and hate ".
