The conservative Sebastian Kurz won this Sunday the parliamentary elections in Austria and is well placed to return to power, four months after being overthrown by the scandal of Ibizagate, according to the projections of public television.

The conservatives of the ÖVP would get 37.2% of the votes. The extreme right FPÖ, credited with 16% of the vote, would lose ten points compared to the 2017 elections while the Social Democratic Party SPÖ would come second with 22% of the vote. The Greens, who won less than 4% in the 2017 elections, are back in Parliament with a rapid increase to 14.3% of the vote.
