Sprinter Jimmy Vicaut failed to qualify for the 100m final, while American Christian Coleman impressed in the semifinals at the Doha World Championships (Qatar) on Saturday.

Vicaut finished just seventh in the last semifinal (10.16), and misses the world finals for the second time in his career (in five appearances).

Coleman (23), vice-champion of the world in title, landed in big favorite of the final, which will take place to 21:15 (French), by crushing the first semifinal in 9 sec 88.

His fellow countryman Justin Gatlin had a scare: only third in his semifinal (10.09) behind Canadian Andre De Grasse (10.07) and Jamaican Yohan Blake (10.09), while only the first two places were directly qualifying.

Gatlin, two-time world champion in the 100m, has finally qualified at the time and will be present in the final at 37 years.
