The bunker is located in the small town of Traben-Trarbach. The data center has hosted Darknet platforms and various sites dealing with, among other things, the sale of drugs and other illegal activities. Seven people were arrested in connection with the strike. It reports, among others, AP and the Local.

The fear of the bunker is part of an investigation where a 59-year-old Dutchman stands as the main suspect. He is believed to have acquired the bunker as early as 2013 with the aim of just converting it into a server room exclusively intended for illegal operations.

Several suspects

A total of 20 people are suspected in the investigation. They are believed to have links to thousands of crimes involving drugs, counterfeiting, document forgery and the spread of child pornography. Among other things, the server hall should have hosted the drug portal "Cannabis Road", "Wall Street Market", the world's largest online drug market, and "Orange Chemicals", which sells synthetic drugs.

The German newspaper Die Rheinpfalz writes that there are also links to Sweden, which at present the Swedish police can neither confirm nor deny for SVT News. On the other hand, the Swedish police's log is included on one of the sites that was stopped as a result of the attack on the bunker. DN reports this.
