• Catalonia. They place another banner in the Generalitat in favor of freedom of expression hours after withdrawing that of the prisoners by order of the TSJC
  • Answer: The TSJC urges Torra to remove the banner in favor of sovereign leaders

The Barcelona City Council has removed the yellow ribbon from its façade in support of the imprisoned independence politicians , following a request by the Zone Electoral Board.

As reported by municipal sources, the tie was removed last night , before 24 hours, when the deadline that the Electoral Board had set for the session to remove any symbology that could have political significance from its headquarters ended .

The Barcelona District Electoral Board issued that resolution after the complaint that Societat Civil Catalana (SCC) presented to demand that the session be forced to remove the yellow ribbon from its façade, as it happened in the periods prior to the other electoral appointments of this year

Precisely, on the other side of the Sant Jaume square in Barcelona, the Government withdrew this Friday the banner of support for the political prisoners of the Palau de la Generalitat , after the Superior Court of Justice of Catalonia (TSJC) ordered the Mossos to do so d'Esquadra.

The TSJC directed its order to the Catalan police, because the president of the Generalitat, Quim Torra, had ignored his two requirements to stop displaying the banner on the facade of the Palau, a precautionary measure that the high court issued as a result of a resource presented by the Impulso Ciudadano association, linked to a former director of Cs.

Hours later, the Government replaced the banner supporting prisoners with another one with the slogan "Freedom of expression."
